Temple History
The history of Jageshwar Dham dates back to the 8th–13th centuries. It has long been regarded as an important center for Shiva worship and meditation. Many temples in the complex were built during the reign of the Katyuri and Chand dynasties. According to legends, sages and ascetics performed intense penance here and received divine blessings from Lord Shiva.
